Would it be too much to build up if I say that Commune is my ideal ambiance for coffee shop? Well this idealism is because I’ve been a fan of a Korean drama, Coffee Prince, which has the same interior. From Salcedo Village they move in to Polaris Street, still in Makati vicinity. With a touch of industrial elements and a ventilated place, it’s a good place with friends or colleagues to chill or to have a meeting. The name itself suggests talking, COMMUNicate. 🙂commune (9)

Commune can cover all your needs from morning till midnight because it’s a café & bar. Better yet start with dinner.

Their Nachos (P120) come in a small bowl yet it feels heavy already. Chopped onions, tomatoes, jalapeños, and the crunchy tortilla chips drizzled with cheese is a perfect pair for beer. They have al fresco on the second floor!commune (1)

Everything is useful is surely a Filipino norm, and so maybe the Chicharong Bulaklak is invented in our appetizer or pulutan menu. Chicharong Bulaklak is not pig’s neither intestine nor fat. Try to google “mesentery” and that’s where Chicharong Bulaklak comes from! Presented beautifully like flower, Chicharong Bulaklak is very crispy outside but chewy inside. Dip in to their one-of-a-kind vinegar and voila!commune (2)

If you want rice for lunch, they have Beef Tapa with Fried Egg (P285).  It’s tender, moist and flavorful!commune (6)

Their Pork Adobo with Salted Egg Relish (P220) is something special for it has a distinct taste which by the way, if I’m not mistaken, is the specialty of the grandma’s owner.commune (7)

Meanwhile, their Arroz a la Cubana (P325), a ground meat with fried banana on the side is not sinful because it is less oily. (I accidentally deleted where the ground meat is shown, sorry)commune (8)

This dish is Pollo al Ajillo. Chicken’s meat is so soft but like fine dining’s taste, the flavor is very minimal, this is because the chicken is braised to soak the flavors so well. commune (12)

Croque Monsieur’s difference over Croque Madame is the egg. I always try remembering it that madam(e) has the (e)gg on top. So far, I was satisfied how it tasted among other restaurants that I tried. Croques of Café 1771 are awesome, too!commune (4)commune (5)

So that’s it! I just do hope that the servings should be more generous. I’m planning to visit again to try their coffee art in 3D. Since it’s night time when we, the bloggers, dined I didn’t try the coffee because it really let me to stay awake for whole night.
