From its logo and name, the House of Griddle is inspired by the well-known TV series, Game of Thrones. It would not be difficult to explain the “house” term for the people who were able to watch the said series but to formally give a background about the inspiration of the food stall’s name, the Game of Thrones has 7 kingdoms called House Lannister, House Stark and so on. The owner, who is a big fan of the series long before it becomes mainstream, made the right decision since everyone seemed to know GoT today.
We, bloggers, were able to try four of their dishes. So Arya (Stark) ready to check what we got here?
The House Lannister Special – Shrimp Gambas (P169) is seasoned with fresh garlic and butter paired with their special vinegar sauce. With the 8 shrimps curled in the chopping board plate, I would say their serving is generous.
The House Baratheon Special – Beef Bulgogi (P169) tastes from how should I expect it – sweet and savory. Garnished with sesame seeds, this Korean dish always satisfy my tummy!
The House Stark Special – Herbed Pork (P149) looks humble just like the Starks isn’t? However, this is the dish I can’t get over with since it is impeccably seasoned! In addition, the gravy that comes together with the dish is somehow similar to one famous fast food chain we have here in the country. It is underpriced if I could say, for a big serving and delicious dish. My top dish.
The House Tyrell Special – Bunless Burger Patty (P169) is so-so for me. I like how it is appetizingly plated and the goodness of its first bite. However, the flavor is too rich.
Of all the dishes served, the bonus is actually the House of Griddle Fried Rice! The rice is delectable itself, I swear to all seven gods. :p
House of Griddle is originally located in Caloocan but with the opening of The Yard Streetfood Cinema, the frequent goers of Tomas Morato and Timog area will have now a new food to keep on coming back.
The taste of the food they offer is not far from the food I try in the nice restaurants I have dined. Their staff are friendly and the concept is unique so I am hoping for the development of their menu, their place and anything GoT related so people would have more to look forward to.
